What’s In a Name?
We alll have a story. the very root, the core of who we are, as an individual, lies in our ability to realize the story, act on it, and then share it onward.
When we tell others our story, we’re doing more than just sharing events. We’re sharing meaning. It’s a narrative of how we became who we are and through our experiences, we’re shaping our identity of what is important to us and how we see ourselves.
It’s a strong statement in itself.

Pastor Ravy’s spiritual formation is a journey of obedience, faith, and trust in God’s providence. After serving faithfully with Lutheran Hour Ministries for 12 years beginning in 2010, and being ordained in 2017 at Christ Lutheran Church in Phnom Penh, his ministry was deeply rooted in the Gospel and pastoral care The Covid-19 lockdown in 2019 became a refining season. In the uncertainty and difficulty, Pastor Ravy reflected on the calling of Abraham, who obeyed God’s voice and stepped into the unknown by faith.
Like Abraham, Pastor Ravy discerned God’s leading to move from familiarity into a new chapter. Relocating to Taros Village, about 7 kilometers from Siem Reap, he embraced both family responsibility and missionary vision. As an only son caring for his aging mother, his obedience reflected the biblical integration of faith and filial duty.
In this new land, God shaped his heart for a community mission. By teaching English to local children and high school students, he built relationships and opened doors for Gospel witness. Naming the land “Taros Promise Land” expressed his conviction that God prepares places for his purposes. Through hardship, relocation, and new beginnings, Pastor Ravy’s life reveals a spirituality frmed by surrender, service and steadfast trust in God’s unfolding plan.
And now:
God has done what only He can do, showering us with blessings and surprises beyond our wildest human comprehension. Amen!
We are thankful to announce that, by God’s provision, our ministry has completed the purchase of land that will be dedicated to His work. It is located right behing the current church compound.
This huge milestone reflects the faith and stewardship read in Genesis 23:16-20, where Abraham honorably purchased land for a sacred purpose, trusting God’s promises for the future. In the same way, we are dedicating this land to serve the Lord and the people He will bring in His perfect timing.
He has provided land—not simply for a building, but for His purposes to take root and flourish. What began as a simple, heartfelt prayer into the distant future has now become a surprising reality, much earlier than thought. Land set apart for a ministry center where hope will take root and grow. This is more than soil and space.
And so, from the clearing of the land will come a ministry center where hearts and minds are shaped for His glory. (We have already seen this happening in our school and church!) We are bursting at the seams. Amen.
This will give us much needed classrooms where English and practical skills like sewing and computer training will be taught, a pastoral office where prayer, counsel, and shepherding guide His people, our community, and a gathering place where the gospel is proclaimed and the church is strengthened. And so much more that at this point we do not see yet…but He does. (And Pastor Ravy and his family will now have the meager space of their home back as their family grows up).
We believe that this land will also sustain life through a farm, standing as a living testimony that when God builds, He builds to last. “Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain.” (Psalm 127:1)
On this foundation. We trust God to grow His church and draw the community to faith in Him.

For those who read, and are a continuing part in this, we thank you for being a part of this journey.
