Happy Valentine’s Day from Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Happy Valentine’s Day from Hope Lutheran Evangelical Church.
Welcome to HLEC, where the gospel of Jesus Christ is proclaimed, the heartbeat of this ministry being
the very love of our Jesus being the core of this ministry.

Six years ago Hope School began on this very site, sharing the beginnings of English learning, the
passion of teaching children in the village and beyond.

It is now 2025. In the past year, this whole footprint into the community has flourished beyond our
human imagination.

In January, we saw the erection of walls and doors on the school classroom site, which only had a steel
roof previously. That gave us a cleaner and secure environment from the animals outside (except family
dogs), and an official ‘setting’ that welcomed students into our world.

We now have a church building, which was started in March of last year, completed in June, and
dedicated to our Lord in August. This beacon of light and hope stands strong as one enters the
community, nestled almost at the entrance of the road into the community at large. This location also
gives easy access to reaching us for those outside our general commune.

We have had four baptism events, with a total of 18 souls saved. Those older teen students have
ushered forward and are now participating in weekly church services, and serving the littles on Sunday
School. They attended our first discipleship workshop in January to learn how to do their best in their new lives in Him.

English class has had as many as 58 students some days. Surrounding villages have heard about us and
our programs, and want to be a part of it. That includes soccer participation, practice, and games on
Saturday.

Additionally, we are the footprint into other remote areas with partner churches to share our eyeglass
clinic events so that folks can see their bibles to read God’s word, and to enjoy daily life to the fullest in
the creation around them.

At the core of all of this is the transparent, honest, God centered leadership that encompasses each and
every part of this ministry. Without Godly instruction, mentorship, and leadership of a team of men
who is on the forefront, none of this would ever be possible. And to the women who stand behind
these men to encourage, pray and assist along the way, these women are God’s precious additional gift
to the kingdom.

In our pursuit to continue all of these items you are now able to pray and read about us, as this ministry
needs your help.

Our students are poor, most are not able to pay to be taught English. This is an extremely poor village.
Like many in the rural areas.

In order for this ministry to prosper, stand strong, and grow, we are at an impasse with no resources to
pay the bills: electricity, water, and school supplies, and a stipend for the teachers. One or two dollars a
month for a student to come to our classes would go a long way to be sharers and doers of the gospel.
The burden of the unknown would be lifted off our shoulders.

Please pray with us and help us to share the gospel. We need each one of you along this journey.
